Product | Description |
Aluminium Alloys | Aluminium is one of the mostly widely used metals in engineering. Its combination of light weight, corrosion resistance and, in the case of alloys such as 2024 and 7075, very high strength makes it ideal for the extraordinary pressures and stresses involved in aerospace applications. Its good conductivity and thermal conductivities also makes it ideal for a range of commercial, electrical and thermal applications |
Nickel and High Temperature Alloys | Nickel alloys, high temperature or “Superalloys” are highly engineered to offer a combination of high temperature corrosion resistance, heat resistance, toughness and strength. These types of alloys are broadly split in various families of alloys including Nickel-Chromium alloys (Inconel grades 600, 625, 718, X-750 and Nimonic grades 75, 80A, 90, 263), Nickel-Iron-Chromium alloys (Incoloy grades 800, 825, 925, 330) and Cobalt-based superalloys (MP35N, Rene 41, L605, Waspaloy). They find uses in some of the world’s most technically demanding applications and industries, including turbine engines, nuclear power plants, and corrosive environments. |
Alloy and Stainless Steel | Stainless and alloys steel consist of iron alloyed with varying amounts of other elements such as carbon, chromium and nickel and cover a wide range of products from low-alloy steels (4130, 4340, 300M), to austenitic (300 series), martensitic (400 series), precipitation hardening (17-4PH, 15-5PH, 13-8Mo), and maraging steels (250, 300, 350). With many grades being heat-treatable, stainless and alloys steel offer a good combination of high hardness, yield strengths and corrosion resistance. Steels can be found in a multitude of applications from domestic appliances and decorative structures, to roll cages, pressure vessels, furnace parts, and aerospace fasteners, fittings, airframe parts and valves. |
Electronic Alloys | These alloys include the range of nickel-iron alloys know as low-expansion or controlled-expansion alloys as well as commercially pure nickel, oxygen free copper and refractory metals such as tantalum, tungsten and molybdenum. These properties of high conductivity, corrosion resistance and specific thermal expansion characteristics make these alloys well suited to a range of applications such as battery components, heat exchangers, sparking electrodes, glass-to-metal seals, measuring devices and semiconductors. |
Titanium Alloys | Titanium, available in both the commercially pure or alloy form, is widely used in many critical and highly-stressed parts, thanks to its combination of a high strength-to-weight ratio (it’s 40% lighter than steel), excellent mechanical properties and corrosion resistance. Among its many applications are static and rotating gas turbine engine components, heat exchangers, nuclear power plants and medical implants and prostheses. Available in all the usual product forms, it is also supplied in precision castings for near-net shape which reduce the amount of material loss. |
Magnesium Alloys | At a quarter of the weight of steel and a third lighter than aluminium, Magnesium is the lightest of the structural metals. This combination of low density, good high temperature mechanical properties and excellent corrosion resistance makes it widely used in aerospace and automotive applications such as gearbox and transmission casings. The most common grade is AZ31B which is also available in tooling plate, used for its exceptional dimensional stability in machining allowing the manufacture of very complex parts. |
Copper Alloys | Copper is one of the earliest metals known to man and its combination of good corrosion resistance, mechanical properties and workability along with the best electrical and thermal conductivity of any commercial material make it one of the most useful metals in the modern world. It’s main applications include building wire, motor windings , cables, busbars (High Conductivity Copper) and heat sinks, heat exchangers, and disc drives (Engineering Copper). Beryllium Copper in the heat treated and cold worked condition is the hardest and strongest of any copper alloy. The most common bronze alloy supplied is Nickel-Aluminium-Bronze and in particular C63000 (CA104 / BS B23 / AMS 4640). This is widely used in applications involving heavy loads, abrasive wear and corrosion, including landing gear components, strut bearings and main pistons. Other forms of bronze include silicon bronze, phosphor bronze and oil-impregnated sintered bronze. |
Industrial and Nuclear Tubes | We supply a range of rod and tubing products for use in industrial and nuclear applications. This includes a range a complex Titanium alloys, Stainless and Duplex steels, Zirconium and Zirconium alloy tubes, Zircaloy nuclear fuel tubes. All products are manufactured to the most exacting standards and customer specifications. |
Plastics | We can offer a full range of plastics, from high performance (Polyimide, PAI, PEEK, PPS, Sulphones, Fluoropolymers) to engineering (Nylon, Acetal, Polyester, Polycarbonate) and standard (PVC, Acrylic, Polyethylene) grades. High performance grades offer a wide combination of attractive properties including light weight, very wide of operating temperatures, friction properties and electrical insulation. |
We are able to supply a full range of foil products as thin as 0.0002” in stainless steel, beryllium and copper alloys, aluminium and nickel alloys. Our foil can be supplied as precision slit coil, standard width coil or cut and levelled sheet to most commercial and aerospace specifications.
We supply a full range of precision drawn wire in aluminium, stainless steel, copper, titanium and nickel / high temperature alloys. Our wire can be supplied on spools, in coil or in straight cut lengths to very tight tolerances and to all commercial and aerospace specifications. Shaped wire is also available on request and a readily available supply of starting stock allows for quick production times and small batch quantities.
We supply precision drawn seamless and welded tube to very tight tolerances starting from 0.15mm outer diameter in straight lengths, coil and precision cut lengths. Tubes can be supplied in a full range of stainless steel, aluminium, nickel alloys (including Invar, Kovar and Alloy 48), titanium and copper alloys to all commercial and aerospace specifications. Special shapes are also available upon request.
